THOMPSON, Robert "Bob," 82, of Adena- Harrisville Road, died December 9, 2012, at his home surrounded by his devoted and loving family.
He was born March 11, 1930, in Adena, a son of the late Walter and Lila Thompson.
He was a member of the Adena Methodist Church, and the United Mine Workers.
He was chief of police in Adena, and retired from the Consol Coal Co.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Luella Bailey; and a brother, William (Red) Durbin.
Surviving are his loving wife of 62 years, Elizabeth Engstrom Thompson; daughters, Rebecca (Rich) Reppart of Cadiz, Doris (Jack) Dufour of Indiana; and Robby (Jeff) Donley of Hopedale; sisters, Mary Lou Bartrug, and Carol Hill, both of Adena; and nine grandchildren, Robert Kubic, Misti Carman, Cristy Kubic, Angie Craig, Nikki Petty, Justin, Jason, and Jacob and Jessica Donley; and six great-grandchildren, Will and Miranda Carman, Riley Kubic, Kaylee and Alia Petty and Ayden Craig.
Friends received to pay tribute to Bob and celebrate his life Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Borkoski Funeral Home, Adena.
Friends then received at the Adena United Methodist Church Friday from 11 a.m. until time of service at 1 p.m., with pastors Drew McPeak and Chuck Mehl officiating.
Burial in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove.
