She was born February 20, 1922, in St. Clairsville, a daughter of the late Vladimir and Rosa Ruzich Knezevich.
She was a graduate of Newcomerstown High School, OH, and the University of Miami, Coral Gables, FL
Mary retired as a CPA for the Florida Auditor General's Office.
She was a devout Catholic and a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church of Coral Springs, the Coral Springs Federated Women's Club, Life member of Mercy Hospital Auxiliary, Business and Professional Women, Florida Institute of CPA's and the American Association of University Women.
She loved to read and was an avid bridge player. She greatly inspired and had a positive effect on her family and friends.
In addition to her parents Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Vincent E. Parlato, and her siblings, Nick and Joseph Knezevich, Dorothy O'Neill and Stella Allman.
Surviving are eight nieces and nephews, Nick (Renee') Knezevich Jr., Zoann McGruder, Edward Ross Knezevich, Jane (William) Watkins, Melinda (Ray) Meyers, Cheri (Jerry) Ballard, V.J. ( Geri) Knezevich II, and Joann Davis; 19 great-nieces and nephews and 14 great-great nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may gather Thursday, December 20, 2012 from noon until the time of Mary's Funeral Mass at 1 p.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 230 West Main St., St. Clairsville with Fr. Edward Kelly of Coral Springs, FL, the Celebrant. Interment will follow in Union Cemetery St.Clairsville.
Beck-Altmeyer Funeral Home and Crematory St. Clairsville, OH is in charge of arrangements.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated by Fr. Edward Kelly January 18, 2013 at 11 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church Coral Springs.
