RIEGER, Helen, 105, following a brief illness and having lived a long and blessed life of being surrounded by loving family and friends was called home to the Lord on Wednesday, January 16, 2013.

Helen was the beloved wife of the late George E. Rieger; cherished mother of Helen (Edward) Struzinski of Lansing, Michigan and Josephine (Theodore) Turchick of McMurray, Pennsylvania; adored grandmother of Michael (Catherine) Struzinski; great grandmother of Connor and Emma Struzinski.

Helen was born on September 21, 1907, in West Bellaire, OH to Joseph and Helen Becker and lived there for 30 years. Helen lived on Highland Avenue in Shadyside for 65 years and was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church. Since 2002, Helen was a resident of Edgewood Retirement Center in Lansing, Michigan.

Helen is also survived by one sister, Eva Hemsley, of Akron, OH.

Helen was preceded in death by her sisters, Barbara Jackson, Magaline Holzopfel and her brother, Joe Becker.

Her surviving nieces and nephews, Barry Holzopfel, Keith Holzopfel, Joyce DeMarco, Cheryl Bringman, Diana Smith, Craig Hemsley, Eudoxia Castano will remember their Aunt Helen for her love of singing, and her laughter and joy for life.

Friends will be received on Saturday, January 19, 2013 from 9-11 a.m. at the Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Homes & Crematory 3900 Central Ave., Shadyside, OH. Funeral liturgy with Mass will follow at 11:30 a.m. in the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Shadyside, OH. Burial will be at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Bellaire, OH.
