WEDNESDAY'S HEAVY rains caused minor flooding in several areas of Belmont County.

One of the roads affected was Pike Creek Road. However, according to a spokesperson at the Belmont County Emergency Operations Center, most of the streams in the county are running high, but are remaining in their banks. There was also some flooding on Ohio 147, (Bailey's Mills).

Crews from the Ohio Department of Transportation, Morristown garage, were called for a road slip on Ohio 148 early today, but a spokesperson said the problem has been resolved. Crews are on the roads taking care of some icy spots. Motorists are urged to drive carefully.

Road crews from the Belmont County Engineering Department were called out early because of trees and limbs being on on several roads throughout the county.

A spokesperson at the Roscoe Road garage said crews have also been taking care of several icy spots on the roads.

A dispatcher at the Ohio State Highway Patrol in St. Clairsville, said no accidents have been reported as of 7:40 a.m.
