DOWELL, Alvin S."Big Al" Sr., 62, of Rush Run, OH, passed away Saturday February 9, 2013, in Wheeling Medical Park Hospital.
He was born January 24, 1951 in Steubenville, OH, a son of the late Linzie and Dorothea "Bonnie" Lavon Morris Dowell.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Harold L. "Linnie" Dowell.
Big Al was a truck driver for Rush Run Trucking. He was Methodist by Faith, and a big fan of the 700 Club. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Surviving are his wife, Karen J. (Brown) Dowell, whom he married August 9, 1975; a son, Alvin S. (Jessica) Dowell Jr. of Brilliant, Ohio; a daughter, Tami (Steven) Wade of Barnesville, Ohio; and five grandchildren, Calvin and Maisie Dowell and Alexis, Willow and Eddy Wade.
Friends will be received on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., and also on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Wheeler Funeral Home, 712 Third St., Brilliant, where funeral services will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Jeff Seigler, officiating.
