ST. CLAIRSVILLE-The Ohio Valley was home to one of the nation's top McDonald's restaurant crew members: 82-year-old Jennie Zann. Last Tuesday, February 12 at the McDonald's in Ohio Valley Mall, Zann was surprised for her shift with the presentation 2012 Crew Person of the Year Award including media from around the area. This prestigious award spotlights the contribution crew members make to McDonald's business by delivering exceptional customer satisfaction every day.

"Jennie brings an exuberance to the restaurant each day she comes to work," said Ross Stoltz, Owner/Operator of the St. Clairsville McDonald's and several others across the Ohio Valley. "Even as a part-time employee, her attitude and passion toward the job are truly contagious. Our morning 'regulars' always ask about her when she's not here."

Only 25 employees in the entire nation are recognized with the Crew Person Of The Year Award, which is based on excellence in customer service, hospitality, leadership and community service.

Stoltz and McDonald's regional corporate officials will surprise Zann with a check for $500, a plaque and other items that will continually recognize her as Crew Person of the Year with the restaurant.

"Jennie approaches every day with a strong focus on doing the best job she can," Stoltz continued. "She is self-motivated, self-driven and will take time to interact with our customers while still accomplishing her daily tasks at a high level."

Zann has been a crew member at McDonald's for more than 19 years. After she took a leave of absence for personal reasons in 2005, Zann asked to return to the restaurant because she missed her fellow employees, regular customers and the excitement of the restaurant.

"We couldn't be happier for Jennie, who is so deserving of this award. We are proud to have her on our team," said Stoltz.
