Bevy of activities at CCRC during March

BELLAIRE - The Country Club Retirement Campus will be busy in the month of March as they are holding several events.

On March 8, CCRC will host a Continuing Education Unit (CEU) Breakfast for social workers, case managers, discharge planners, nurses and family members of senior citizens. Those who are in attendance will receive CEU credits and/ or information about caregivers.

The breakfast will be held from 7 a.m. to 8 a.m. There will also be a guest speaker Laural Duback from Area Agency on Aging - Region 9, Inc. This breakfast will be worth one CEU or one contact hour.

Duback will also be the guest speaker at another event the Country Club Retirement Campus will host a Dash - N - Dine on March 26 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and will be worth one CEU or one contact hour.

The topic of discussion will be Medicare and Medicaid, Caregivers in the Workplace and Marketing to Baby Boomers.

After the event, those who attend will receive a to - go dinner for you and your family. All those who are interested, please contact Kristin Wittenbrook.

The final event that the CCRC will sponsor is showing their appreciation and gratitude by sending supplies to soldiers serving in Afghanistan. The packages will be sent to Emory Necessary III and his unit.

CCRC will collect donations such as shaving cream, razors, shower gel, hand wipes and batteries of all sizes. These items can be dropped off at Bellaire City Building, Bellaire Chamber of Commerce, Bellaire American Legion and Powhatan Municipal Building, First National Bank in Powhatan. The last day to drop off donations will be March 4 and the packages will be made up and sent to the troops on March 6.
