Sierra Club

February 28, 2013
Times Leader

Dear Editor,

Once again the Sierra Club is fighting hammer-and-tongs against TransCanada's proposed Keystone XL pipeline. The conseravationist organization wants to complete review of the project in its revised manifestation.

U.S. citizens are asked to countenance a pipeline conveying tar sands oil from Alberta, Canada, through our Great Plains, to refiners in Texas.

Of course, an intrinsic hazard of pipeline leaks and spills would be imposed on the people and wildlife of the American heartland for many decades.

We're given to know that much of the oil is to be exported. This is enough to cause a patriot's throat to rise involuntarily.
