WHEELING - 'He's Alive!' is finally returning to the Capitol Theater in Wheeling.

From 1996-2005, 'He's Alive!, an inspiring musical passion play celebrating the birth, life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, was performed free of charge at the historic Capitol Theater annually.

Then in 2006, when issues began arising at the facility, which was subsequently closed in 2007 after failing a safety inspection.

MEMBERS?OF?the cast of ‘He’s Alive’ get in a full practice recently in preparation for the show’s return tot he Capitol Theater.

"We were five weeks out to presenting the show in 2006, but that's when everything fell part," recalled Jeannie Waychoff of Heaven Bound Ministries. "We had no venue and no place to move the show to.

"Now that Denny (Magruder) and his folks have invited us back, we'll be able to present the greatest story ever told again at the Capitol."

The large-scale production features more than 250 cast and crew members.

It will be held Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. with a Saturday matinee performance at 3:30 p.m.

Doors open an hour before the curtain comes up.

Admission is free and seating is available on a first-come, first serve bases.

A number of original cast members are returning to perform, along with some new faces.

"We have a number of people returning with us who started with us," Waychoff said. "We're also blessed with new people who have a freshness and a new passion for the play ... it's exciting and wonderful to meet and work with new brothers and sisters to enlarge our prospective of where God wants us to spread the word."

There are cast and crew members from all across the tri-state area, from Southwestern Pa., Wheeling, Cadiz ... all across the valley and beyond.

They also come from a number of varying Christian denominations.

Waychoff believes this is a great way to help spread the story and ministry of Jesus Christ, especially to those who might not normally step foot inside a church.

"This ministry takes the gospel outside the walls of the church," Waychoff said. "We've had between 5,000-6,000 people in and out of that theater. Some didn't even know why, they just knew it was free and at a beautiful theater.

"This is outreach ministry at its finest."

Heaven Bound Ministries is a non-profit, non-denominational organization.
