TMC Chorus to sing 'Oldies but Goodies'

March 31, 2013
Times Leader

WHEELING - "Oldies but Goodies" is the Thursday Music Club Chorus. They are a group of 30 women ranging in age from 54, who is the youngest member, to 90 years of age. The director is Anita Chops and the accompanist is Debbie Barlow. Both of these women are very involved with their own churches and many other activities.

The Thursday Music Club has been working on the Spring Concert Program since January and want to invite everyone to the program. The program consists of some old tunes like "Cindy," a medley of "The King and I," "Summertime, Summertime," but there are also some modern tunes by the group Abba and Billy Joel. Included in the program is a selection called "The Prayer" which was sung by Celine Dion and Josh Groban, plus a Hebrew selection entitled, "Bashana Haba'ah." All in all, it is going to be a very heartwarming experience for those in attendance. Be prepared for a few funny surprises and total enjoyment.

The Chorus has done several Christmas Programs for Elm Hurst and the Women's Club of Wheeling. They also did a tea at Mt. St. Joseph on March 17. Another performance at Elm Hurst is scheduled for April 15.
