Prep Baseball Roundup: Beallsville now 3-0; Shamrocks edge Dogs

Beallsville's Blue Devils are off to a 3-0 start following Wednesday's 10-8 come-from-behind victory over invading Frontier.

Beallsville trailed 5-0 before storming back to win. Kris Palmer, Chase Mercer and Ricky Tubaugh teamed on the mound, combining for eight strikeouts and six walks.

Dalton Secrest's two-run double keyed a six-run Blue Devils' sixth frame. Tubaugh cracked two singles and knocked in three teammates. Chad Louden singled twice and drove in one. Logan Nippert tagged a run-scoring triple.

Beallsville plays a Saturday doubleheader at Shadyside.

Bellaire 7, Union Local 1

AT Bellaire, the Big Reds improved to 3-2 behind the four-hit complete game pitching of junior Nick Patrone. The Reds' righthander struck out 10 and issued three walks.

Bellaire received multi-hit outings from three players. Hunter Westlake singled and doubled for a run batted in. Tyler West accounted for a run via two singles. Patrone aided his cause with a pair of base knocks. Tyler Ramsay rapped a sacrifice fly.

UL's Tristen Bruce socked two singles. Jets' starter Justin Riley fanned three and walked a like number.

Bellaire is scheduled to visit Harrison Central on Friday.

Barnesville 9, Bridgeport 8

AT Barnesville, the Shamrocks avenged an earlier loss at Bridgeport by holding off the Bulldogs.

David Brown and Chase Huntsman worked the hill for D.J. Butler's now 1-1 club. The duo teamed for seven strikeouts and five walks.

Colton Pritchard, who delivered a tie-breaking RBI single in the fifth, added another single and also doubled for the Green. Dylan MacMillan singled twice as did teammate Mitchell Wells.

Bridgeport's QJ Williams enjoyed a four-hit performance, tagging a triple, double and two singles, good for two RBIs. Cody Reed and Bailey McGrath collected two hits apiece.

Barnesville was slated to visit Linsly Friday afternoon.

Harrison Central 10, St. Clairsville 0

AT Cadiz, the host Huskies compiled a six-run second inning en route to a five-inning blanking of St. Clairsville.

Rashean Mitchell and Bryson Porter worked the hill for HC with Mitchell earning the win. He fanned five and issued two walks. Mitchell aided his cause at the plate, drilling a double.

Nick Staten socked a single and double. Drew Horn hammered two singles and knocked in one. Ryan Rose rapped a single and scored two teammates. Kalub Mitchell also contributed a single and two RBIs. Malik Gummer accounted for St. C.'s lone base knock.

Harrison Central hosts Bellaire on Friday.

Toronto 19, St. John's 1

AT Toronto, the host Red Knights scored in all four at-bats en route to a decisive triumph over the Irish.

Andy Miller earned the mound win with relief help from two teammates. The trio allowed just one base hit.

Chez Glenn singled twice and brother Blaze Glenn did likewise for the winners.

Linsly 12, River 0

AT Hannibal, Linsly's Jameson Murray stopped the host Pilots on three hits. Murray fanned eight and did not issue a base on balls.

Dom Ellis collected three Cadet singles. Tyler Ashbrook drove in two teammates via two singles. Colton Coss contributed two base knocks.

River's Josh Stewart delivered a two-base hit. The now 1-2 Pilots have a scheduled Friday road test at Shadyside.
