St. Clairsville took advantage of seven Bellaire errors Monday afternoon to hand the Lady Big Reds a 5-4 setback on the middle school diamond in St. Joe.
The Red Devils - now 7-4 - received solid production from Lauren Figura. She got the win in the circle with four strikeouts and just one walk. She helped her cause with a single and two RBI.
Alicia Avila and Brianna Sowers each had an RBI single. Summer Gallentine had two singles. Mackenzie Otto had a double and a single.
Bellaire (14-2) was paced by sophomore Dallas Messenger, who had three singles. Megan Ging had a RBI double. Mary Garloch drove in two runs with a double. Morgan Runyon had two singles.
St. Clairsville hosts Martins Ferry today in a key Buckeye 8 clash.

AT STEUBENVILLE, Kylie Stalder's 2-run double in the top of the seventh lifted the visiting Purple Riders (10-3) to the narrow come-from-behind win over host Big Red at Jim Wood Park.
Freshman Shaye DeLeonardis continued her mastery inside the circle She fanned six and once again didn't walk a batter. She scattered nine hits and only allowed a second-inning run.
The win strengthened Martins Ferry's hold on the top spot in the OVAC Class 4-A playoff race. It was the fifth straight win for the Purple gang.

AT CADIZ, the Huskies improved to 8-4 with their win over the visiting Jets on the Sally Buffalo Park diamond in Buckeye 8 action.
Emily Dodds continued her hot hitting with a trio of singles that plated a run.
Jessica Custer smacked a 3-run homer and singled, while Paige Dunlap singled and doubled to produce a run.
Winning pitcher Katie Ellzy, who had 11 strikeouts and scattered four hits, and Kara Dunfee evenly split four singles. Ellzy collected an RBI.
Abby Collins tripled for Union Local (8-9). Ali Bethel singled her home.
Harrison Central, which improved to 3-1 in the Buckeye 8, hosts Edison today in a key conference tilt. The Wildcats were 3-0 entering the week. The Jets, who entertain Barnesville today, fell to 0-4 and saw their OVAC Class 4-A playoff hopes dwindle.

AT WINTERSVILLE, the Redskins (9-2) scored seven times in the bottom of the first inning and never looked back in rolling past the visiting Panthers (6-6).
Lauren Swiger clubbed an RBI double for one of two Buckeye Local hits. Kierstyn Czuchran's single was the other.
The Creek's Paige Geanangel struck out 11 while Megan Markja slugged two home runs and a single to account for three RBI. Paige Demattio had a 2-run homer.
Buckeye Local, which fell to 0-4 in the Buckeye 8, hosts Steubenville today.
Cameron 5, Bridgeport 4
AT BRIDGEPORT, the Dragons (9-5) scored three times in the first inning on Audrey Bryan's 3-run homer, the first ever hit over the fence at Irene Ehni Memorial Field.
Ashley Hadzima stroked a 2-run blast over the fence in the bottom of the inning. That marked the first time that a Bulldog batter had cleared the fence.
Emily Nowakowski had a 2-run double and Caitlyn Kroll singled twice and doubled.
Bridgeport visits Shadyside today.
Steubenville Central 10, Bishop Donahue 1
AT Steubenville, freshman pitcher Alex McComb stopped Donahue on three hits. McComb recorded nine strikeouts and two walks.
Central's Micca Mirabella doubled and tripled for a run batted in. Sammie Giannamore belted three singles. McComb aided her cause with a single, double and RBI.
Catcher Ashlyn Daley delivered two singles and two runs batted in.
