SHIPTA, Victoria Rose Yudasz, 92, of Parma, Ohio, died Saturday, May 11, 2013 at the Holy Family Home in Parma.
She was born March 11, 1921 in Crescent, Ohio, daughter of the late Joseph and Valeria Bodzioch Yudasz.
Victoria was a retired custodian from Parma and the Cleveland City Schools. She was a member of the St. Bridget's Church at Parma where she was a choir member for over 25 years and a member of Maynard PNA Lodge 455. Mom lived at the Regina Health Center where she enjoyed the friendship, community and spirituality of the fellow residents.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley J. Shipta; five sisters, Mary Turkaly, Anna Gazdik, Stella Marma, Frances Antolak and Sophia Antolak; and three brothers, John, Joseph and Richard Yudasz.
Surviving are her five daughters, Patricia (Joseph) Waltz of Parma, Elizabeth (Robert) Rucinski of Prospect, Kentucky, Mary (Siegfried) Ditzig of Strongsville, Ohio, Victoria (Vince) Falcone of Barton, Ohio and Theresa (Brian) Ealy of Parma; a sister, Betty Holubeck of St. Clairsville; 12 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville, Ohio on Tuesday from 2 to 8 p.m. with a PNA Service at 3:45 p.m. and a vigil service to be held at 4 p.m.
Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be held on Wednesday at 10 a.m. at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church in Colerain, Ohio, with Father Dale F. Tornes the celebrant. Burial will follow in Rock Hill Cemetery, Flushing.
Her daughters ask that you would honor their mother's memory by continuing her example of love and deep devotion to The Blessed Virgin Mary and Her Son Jesus through acts of random kindness and to take care of each other.
