REMAS, Frank E. Jr. 86, of Countryside Lane, Cadiz, OH, died Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at Trinity Medical Center, West, Steubenville.
He was born June 26, 1926, in Bridgeport, to the late Frank E. Remas Sr. and Caroline Ballog Remas.
He was a retired Coal Miner; a WWII Army Veteran, serving in the Pacific; Masonic Lodge 0298 in Flushing, OH; New Athens Fire Department; Cadiz Eagles Post 34; Cadiz American Legion Post 34; Scottish Rite Bodies in the Valley of Steubenville Northern Masonic Jurisdiction, USA; Freeport Chapter 319 O. Eastern Star; and a volunteer at Harrison Community Hospital.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded by his wife, Louise Carothers Remas, whom he married May 6, 1944.
Surviving are a son, Terrence Remas, Adena, OH; a daughter, Sharon Remas of Cadiz, OH; two granddaughters, Becky (Alex) Rogers of Lore City and Michelle (Lee) Hayman of Adena; three great-grand children and one great- great-granddaughter.
Friends will be received to pay tribute to Frank and celebrate his life at Borkoski Funeral Home, Adena, Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. where funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Monday, with the Rev. Pete Tuchek officiating.
Full Military Honors will be conducted by the Cadiz American Legion at Longview Cemetery, New Athens, OH.
Memorial contributions may be made to Harrison Community Hospital, Cadiz or New Athens Fire Department.
Masonic Services Sunday Evening at 6:45 p.m. at the Funeral Home.
