Neffs tops Lafferty

Neffs scored three times in the bottom of the sixth inning Friday night to defeat Lafferty, 7-4, in Steele and Cook Insurance Ohio Valley Baseball League action at the old ballyard on Ohio 149.

Stephen Splenda singled in two runs for the A's Gang, while Derek Miller and Jon Nagel knocked in a run each with a pair of singles each.

Tyler McGary singled and doubled to plate a run for the Dodgers, while Zeke Wharton doubled in one.

Matt Masarick pitched six innings for Neffs, striking out six, walking four and allowing half-a-dozen hits.

Travis Stephens fanned three in taking the loss.

Barton 8, West Liberty 4

At Crescent, the Braves (6-2) used three RBI from Dustin Hynes in defeating the visiting Hill Toppers on Henning Field.

Hynes singled and doubled to account for his run production. Nick Koval singled twice to plate a run. Anthony Rocchio and TJ Sliva had run-scoring singles, and Nick Rocchio singled and doubled.

Mackenzie Koehler picked up the mound win.
