KARVELLIS, Nancy L. Hughes

KARVELLIS, Nancy L. Hughes, 65, of Bellaire, Ohio died Friday, June 14, 2013 at the East Ohio Regional Hospital in Martins Ferry, Ohio.

She was born January 2, 1948 in Bellaire, Ohio a daughter of the late Chester and Jacqueline Greenwood Crooks.

Nancy was the former owner and president of Hughes Xerographic; a member of the Zoodochos Peghe Greek Church in Martins Ferry, Ohio; past president of the Bellaire Area Chamber of Commerce, member of the Bellaire Retail Merchants, Bellaire Kiwanis, Bellaire Alumni Association, the Ohio Valley Chapter of the American Red Cross, past president of the former Bellaire Pilot's Club and board member of the Private Industry Council and was the first woman member of the National Xerox Council.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Karvellis on January 16, 2013.

Surviving are her two sons, Joe (Beth) Hughes of Wheeling, West Virginia and Adam (Tracie) Hughes of Shadyside, Ohio; stepchildren, Elizabeth (George) Dugmore, Rollis (Susan) Karvellis of Florida, Deborah (Paul) Guinnessy of Virginia and Michelle Karvellis of Wheeling, West Virginia; two brothers, Carl "Butch" (Susan) Crooks of Franklin, Louisianna and Chester (Elizabeth) Crooks of Bellaire, Ohio; and two sisters, Barbara McGhee of Bellaire, Ohio and Jacquie (Mike) Jochumsen of St. Clairsville, Ohio. Also five grandchildren, Tenley, Talon, Tyce, Campbell and Reagan Hughes and several step-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren.

There will be no visitation. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. at the Zoodochos Peghe Greek Church in Martins Ferry, Ohio with Fr. John Kostas, as Celebrant. Interment in the Greenwood Cemetery in Wheeling, West Virginia.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Zoodochos Peghe Greek Church, 314 N. 5th Street, Martins Ferry, Ohio 43935.
