LAFFERTY -- The Steele and Cook Insurance Ohio Valley Baseball League will once again try to get its championship series started tonight.

Game one of the best-of-5 series was rained out last night and will be played tonight, weather permitting, at Community Park. The first pitch is set for 6.

Lafferty, the No. 3 seed, will send righthander Mark Smyth to the mound. He will be countered by fifth-seeded Maynard's Mark Cisar.

Game two will be contested Friday night on the Firemen's Field diamond in Maynard, also at 6. Game three is set for Lafferty at 1 p.m. Sunday. Should a game four or five be needed, they would be played Monday in Maynard and Tuesday in Lafferty. Both would have 6 p.m. starts.
