First Jambo

July 19, 2013
Times Leader

RECEIVING THEIR two-day pass ticket that they won from the weekly promotional drawing at Patty Lou's Dress Shop in St. Clairsville, to Jamboree in the Hill, are Patty Kyle (middle left) and Gloria Durig (middle right). Presenting the tickets to them on the left is, Mary Rose Yudasz, owner of the shop and a member of the chamber. Looking on is Jamboree U.S.A. assistant executive director, Jerry Brightman. The tickets were for the first Jamboree held at the Alderman Airport, July 16 and 17, 1977. The tickets were $25 for the two-day event; and, if I remember correctly, there were about 5,000 people in attendance. I sold the ticket and I sure wish I would have kept it.
