ST. CLAIRSVILLE Several serious cases were heard during Friday's session of Belmont County Common Pleas Court. Judge John M. Solovan II presided.
Justin Michael Archer, 25, 1510 Colerain Pike, Martins Ferry, was arraigned and pleaded not guilty to four counts of rape, each a felony of the first degree occurring May 2013. Each carries a sentence of life with 10 years until the possibility of parole. If found guilty and sentenced consecutively, Archer could face 40 years before an opportunity of release. Status conference was set for July 19, with plea agreement Aug. 16 and trial Sept. 3. His recognizance bond was continued.
Justin Michael Dalrymple, 24, 3 Wegee Lane, Shadyside, pleaded guilty to aggravated assault, a felony of the fourth degree occurring May 2, 2013. He faces a maximum sentence of 18 months. Sentence was set for Aug. 2. A pre-sentence investigation, victim impact statement, EOCC and Crossroads evaluations were ordered.
James Andrew Monogioudis II, 32, 416 Heiland Avenue, Yorkville, admitted to a violation of his community controls after failing to pay fees and testing positive for illegal substances. He was terminated from EOCC. He was given a sentence of 101 days in jail. He was originally sentenced Aug. 31, 2012 for possession of heroin, a felony of the fifth degree occurring May 10, 2012. He received five years' probation.
John Robert Ramser Jr., 52, 226 Highland Avenue, Wheeling, pleaded guilty to one count of domestic violence with a prior conviction of the same, a felony of the fourth degree occurring March 3, 2013. His sentence was set for Aug. 16. A pre-sentence investigation and victim impact statement were ordered.
Keith Nicholas Vinka, 22, 2099 Middle Creek Road, Triadelphia, WV, was arraigned and pleaded not guilty to one count of burglary, a felony of the second degree. He faces a maximum of eight years. A status conference was set for July 19, plea agreement Aug. 16 and trial Aug. 29. Bond was set at $15,000.
David Thomas Logue, 55, 61482 South Hall Road, Jacobsburg, was arraigned and pleaded not guilty to two counts of possession of drugs, felonies of the fourth and fifth degrees occurring March. He faces a maximum of 2.5 years. His status conference was set for Aug. 2, with plea agreement Aug. 30 and trial Sept. 12. Bond was continued at $5,000.
Clarence William Bertram, 21, incarcerated in Moundsville, pleaded guilty to failure to comply with an order or signal from police and causing substantial risk of harm, a felony of the third degree occurring Feb. 20, 2013.
He faces a maximum of 36 months. His sentence was set for Aug. 16. A pre-sentence investigation and victim impact statement were ordered.
A warrant was issued for Thomas Jessie Boyd Jr., 24, 1710 Cliff St., Pittsburgh.
