Bridgeport school supply collection now underway

August 5, 2013
Times Leader

BRIDGEPORT -- A school supply collection is underway for the Bridgeport Exempted School District at various businesses throughout the village.

The Citizens Bank, First National Bank and The Bridgeport Rotary Club are accepting donations of pencils, pens, notebooks, erasers, crayons, folders and similar school supplies. This idea was generated by Mike and Sheila Walters because of the large number of families who are out of work and finding it difficult to purchase back-to-school supplies this year.

The collection is being conducted throughout the month of August, and supplies will be distributed when the school year begins.

The Citizens Bank's Bridgeport Office at 325 Howard St. has a collection bin in the lobby. First National Bank at 435 Main Street is also accepting donations. Stop by to donate new school supplies for the children of the Bridgeport School District.

Monetary donations should be given directly to the school.
