HEBRON - A handful of local schools started their prep cross country seasons a little early Saturday at the Ohio High School Athletic Association's Early Season Invitational at National Trails Raceway.
Shadyside's girls took fourth in Section C. Fort Frye was second, with Caldwell third.
Sophomore McKayla Kinemond was the top finisher for the Tigers, taking 16th overall in 21:49. Her teammate, freshman Alexa Coggins, was 34th in 23:01.
Bellaire's girls were seventh in Section D, paced by freshman Taylor Stoner's 25th place finish in 21:53.
In Section B boys, St. Clairsville's Logan McCort was 30th (17:55), while Kevin Simpson finished 39th (18:14).
