The Times Leader is your one-stop place for local football coverage this season.
While the season doesn't officially begin until Thursday, you can get fully prepared starting Tuesday when The Times Leader's annual Pigskin Preview hits the newsstands.
The Pigskin Preview is 165 pages in length and features in-depth previews and photos of all area teams. Information on every football-playing OVAC member is contained in the preview. On top of the prep coverage, area colleges are also featured, including Ohio State, West Virginia, Ohio University, Notre Dame, Pitt, West Liberty and Bethany.
Also in Tuesday's edition -- and continuing weekly throughout the regular high school season -- will be the Pick Parade. The contest allows readers to pick the winners of the weekend's games and compete against the T-L sports staff in doing so.
Starting next week, the Xs and Os segment will be contained on Wednesdays throughout the regular season. The two pages will preview several of the area's top high school games for the weekend.
Ohio State Buckeyes' fans won't want to miss each Friday prior to games this season as the annual Buckeye Bltiz returns, starting this weekend. The tab will feature preview, columns, who to watch, rosters and information on the Buckeyes and their opponent for the week. There will also be a poster contained each week.
Once again, The Times Leader will be recognizing area athletes with its Athlete of the Week section, which will run on Thursday.
Coaches of all fall sports are encouraged to nominate their athletes for the award by Monday at 10 a.m. They can call those in to 633-1131 ext. 780 or email them to firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com
