JOHNSON, Judy Ann Olack

JOHNSON, Judy Ann Olack, 57, of Bellaire, Ohio, went to be with The Lord on Thursday, September 5, 2013, surrounded by her family at home, after a brief battle with gastrointestinal cancer.

A lifelong resident of Bellaire, Judy was born July 16, 1956, the daughter of the late Ignatz J and Lydia A. Clark Olack.

Judy was employed for 18 years at the Belmont Manor Nursing Home, where she helped start the Alzheimer's unit. She was a team leader of that unit for the better part of her career, working many long days and forming relationships with the individuals for which she cared and their families. Judy was passionate about her job, and cared not only for the individuals in her unit, but also for her coworkers.

Judy appreciated the simple things in life and spent her spare time watching NASCAR, gardening, listening to country music, watching the Pittsburgh Steelers and spending time with her pets. She enjoyed showing the family's 1965 Buick Riviera in car shows and camping with her family at Seneca Lake.

She was the Second Vice President of the American Legion Unit 52 Ladies Auxiliary, where she spent countless hours volunteering advocating for veteran's affairs. She was a Catholic by faith.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, John and Charles Olack.

Surviving are her best friend and loving husband of 31 years, John Wilfred Johnson, with whom she shared everything in life; a son, John Wilfred (J.W.) Johnson, Jr. of Bellaire, Ohio; a daughter, Jenna Lynne Johnson of Bellaire, Ohio; a twin brother, Jerry (Linette) Olack of Bellaire, Ohio, three other brothers, Robert (Bernadette) Olack of Moon Township, Pennsylvania, Ignatz Olack of Bellaire, Ohio and Michael (Crystal) Olack of Shadyside, Ohio; a sister-in-law, Betty Rose (Russell) Burkhart of Bellaire, Ohio and several nieces and nephews Family and friends will be received at the Bauk necht-Altmeyer Funeral Homes & Crematory 441 37th Street Bellaire, OH, Sunday, September 8, 2013 from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Funeral liturgy with Mass will be celebrated on Monday at 11 a.m. at the St. John Catholic Church in Bellaire, OH, with Fr. Daniel Heusel, as Celebrant.

Interment in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Bellaire, OH.

American Legion Ladies Auxiliary services will be conducted on Sunday at 7 p.m. followed by the Vigil services at 7:45 pm.

In lieu of flowers, Judy asked that donations be made in her memory to either the Alzheimer's unit at Belmont Manor Nursing Home, 51999 Guirino Drive, St. Clairsville, OH 43950 or the Marshall County Animal Shelter, RD 5, Box 210, 12th Street, Moundsville, WV 26041.
