SJC continues torrid streak

St. John Central won its eighth straight volleyball match Tuesday evening, downing Wheeling Central in four games. The Lady Irish prevailed by scores of 25-18, 25-19, 21-25 and 25-20.

The Lady Irish were led by Lindsee Perry's 20 points and five aces. Gabby Santinoceto had 12 points and five aces. Lindsey Froehlich added six kills and four blocks.

Wheeling Central was led by Delaney Denniston's 13 points, 11 assists and four kills. Catie Bryan added 11 points and six digs.

McKenzie Michaels had seven points and two blocks.

Barnesville sweeps UL

Barnesville needed just three sets to knock out Union Local, 26-28, 24-26, 24-26.

Shayna McGary had 20 points with 14 digs and 4 blocks, Kaitlyn Clark-Patterson had 5 kills and 6 blocks, and Adrean Carlile had 13 digs and 7 points. Katie Bashline had 14 points.

River floods Valley

HANNIBAL -Monica Curtis had 13 points and 14 assists, while Jensen Caretti added 18 points and 10 kills as River swept Valley by scores of 25-9, 25-9 and 25-8.

Mackenzie Marshall finished with 16 points and eight aces for the Pilots and Abby Caldwell contributed 18 points and five aces.

Martins Ferry defeats Monroe Central

WOODSFIELD -Morgan Carpenter had 12 assists, eight digs and seven points as Martins Ferry defeated Monroe Central by scores of 25-22, 25-22, 19-25, 25-23.

Shaye Deleonardis added 11 assists and eight points for the Purple Riders, while Brooklyn Monroe finished with 10 digs and eight points.

Kelsey Dick had 12 assists and six kills for the Seminoles (2-3), while Brittany Hooper had 11 kills and 16 digs.
