HADZIMA, George W., 75, of St. Clairsville, OH (Maynard Community) died Tuesday, September 17, 2013, at Wheeling Hospital.
He was born May 17, 1938, in Maynard, OH, a son of the late George W. and Sophie Kaska Hadzima, Sr.
George was a retired coal miner working at North American Coal Company's 1 mine at Powhatan Point, OH until it was sealed. He then worked at Consol Coal Company's Winsor mine at Beech Bottom, WV, was a member of UMWA and St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, and a U.S. Army veteran.
George was an avid polka dancer, bird watcher, St. C. Red Devil fan, but most of all, spending good quality time with his grandchildren was his favorite pastime.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Jack and Bob Hadzima; and a sister, Doris Hartline.
Surviving is his loving wife of almost 52 years, Nancy J. Duffey Hadzima; two daughters, Carla (David) Vicker and Shelly (Mark) Thornton all of St. Clairsville; five grandchildren, David George Vicker, Cheryl Anne Vicker, Mason Edward Thornton, and the twins Jacob George and Sophie Rose Thornton.
Friends are invited to attend George's Memorial Mass on Friday at 11 a.m. at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church with Fr. Thomas Graven as celebrant.

Burial at the convenience of the family in Holly Memorial Gardens.
