Woodsfield nursing facility receives honor

WOODSFIELD, OH - Woodsfield Nursing and Rehabilitation Center announced today that it is a proud recipient of the American Health Care Association and the National Center for Assisted Living's (AHCA/NCAL) Silver - Achievement in Quality, National Quality Award for its outstanding performance in the health care profession. This prestigious award highlights select centers across the nation that serve as models of excellence for high-quality long term care.

"The AHCA/NCAL Quality Awards - comprised of three levels, Bronze - Commitment to Quality award; a more rigorous; Silver - Achievement in Quality award; and a comprehensive; Gold - Excellence in Quality award - are the most prestigious recognition of quality within the long term care profession," stated Governor Mark Parkinson, President and CEO of AHCA/NCAL "To earn an award at this level requires the unwavering commitment of each individual in a facility. Woodsfield Nursing and Rehabilitation Center deserves the Silver Quality Award for its accomplishments, and I congratulate each and every person that helped in this constant journey of improving quality care."

The Quality Award program is an independently judged, criteria-based, award program and this year, our facility is one of only 59 long term care centers nationwide to receive this noteworthy award in 2013. AHCA/NCAL's Quality Award is modeled after the criteria of the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award, the nation's premier award recognizing distinguished achievements. AHCA/NCAL's award is designed to support both continuous quality improvement efforts in long term care by promoting quality awareness and education and to recognize quality achievements.

Woodsfield Nursing and Rehabilitation Center is located at 37630 Airport Road, Woodsfield and is a 100 bed skilled nursing facility specializing in post acute care and long term care. Woodsfield parent company is Extendicare is located in Milwaukee, Wisc. Extendircare prides itself on helping people live better by providing quality, cost-effective health care and rehabilitation primarily to seniors in a resident-directed environment.
