‘War on Coal’

October 12, 2013
Times Leader

Dear Editor,

Perhaps no part of President Obama's budget is more out-of - touch and with demands for more of the same, than his failed "green energy" boondoggles.

Like Solyndra's Collapse captured the headlines in 2011 ... now, the future appears even more bleak for scores of coal-fired plants closing.

It's more doom than gloom, for the coal industry, as Obama, fully intends to replace coal with "untested" green energy.

At one point, he promised to create five million green jobs in ten years.

However, the results so far suggest that such members are a pipe dream.

But lets call Obama's green energy initiative for what it is: a "cap and tax" program, because the thing is - costs will be passed onto the consumer.

The president already admitted the policy he seeks will cause our electricity bills to "skyrocket."

Ironically, this violates Obama's repeated promise not to impose new taxes on middle - and lower - income groups. Its a tax on everyone.

President Obama came into office vowing to adopt regulations that would bankrupt companies which build new coal plants.

In closing, I can't think of any previous president in American History who announced to bankrupt the coal industry ... like President Obama, himself, promised long ago.
