Zamski was nominated by Roger Sliva of the Gilbert Koontz American Legion Post 525 in Adena.

According to Veterans Services Commission Service Officer Schelley Brooks, "Frank realizes the importance of instilling in our young people the sense of pride and patriotism in their hearts at an early age so that they may grow up to be outstanding citizens. His patriotism and pride for his country and his devotion to God, country, family, community, children and veterans are why he was chosen for this year's Jefferson County Veteran of the Year."
