HANNIBAL - River ran its girls' basketball record to 2-0 here Monday night with a 57-42 rout of visiting Caldwell inside the R.L. Potts Gymnasium in a PVC contest.
Sophomore dandy Jensen Caretti scored 20 points for the second night in a row to lead the Lady Pilots. She also pulled down six rebounds.
Mikayla Cieszeski added 10 points and seven boards, while Haylee Bowers scored seven points. Landyn Ramsay charted five of River's 20 steals.
The Pilots host Frontier Saturday with a 2 p.m. JV start. There was no JV game played Monday.

At Cadiz, Abby Collins scored 15 points to lead four Jets in double figures as they made Kelly Hanlon's debut as head coach a successful one against the host Huskies in Buckeye 8 action.
"It feels good," Hanlon said of her first varsity coaching victory. We started out a little slow and were actually down at the half, but I told the girls they had better start playing or we were going to leave her with a loss.
"We put on a full-court press and it seemed to change the game," she added.
Cori Medley added 14 points and is now just seven shy of the coveted 1,000-point mark for her career. Amanda Swallie also scored 14 points, while Mikayla Patton added a dozen.
D.J. Keesey led the Huskies with 11 points. Kara Dunfee added eight and Jess Ledger six.
UL led in rebounds 39-19 and had 15 turnovers to 24 for Harrison Central.
The Huskies won the JV game, 34-13.
The Jets travel to St. Clairsville next Monday, while Harrison Central is at Shadyside Friday night.
