Monroe boys win debut

WOODSFIELD - Monroe Central debuted successfully here Friday night in boys' high school basketball action with an 80-56 rout of visiting West Muskingum.

Senior Bryan Duffy (15) and junior Gavin Morton (13) combined for 28 points for the Seminoles, who saw 10 players reach the scoring column.

Chandler Kuhn and Gage Ash evenly divided 18 markers, with Ash draining three bonus goals among the winners' nine trifectas. Zach Jorris chipped in eight points.

Monroe Central had 30 rebounds as Kuhn pulled down seven.

Levi Brown and Curtis Nixon each had a trio of assists for the Seminoles, who travel to Caldwell tonight.
