HUFFMAN, Betty Lee

HUFFMAN, Betty Lee, a life long resident of Wheeling, passed away on Thursday, December 26, 2013, in Wheeling Hospital.

She was born May 7, 1922, daughter of the late George E. and Marie Frye Huffman.

Betty graduated from the former Wheeling High School in 1939, and was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Church, Wheeling.

She was believed to be the first fully registered female stock broker in West Virginia. She started her career in 1942 at George W. Baron and Company, transferred to Bache and Company in 1964 and retired from Prudential- Bache in 1993.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her only brother, James D. Huffman; her only cousin, Mikel Ann Cracraft; four aunts, Clara May Cracraft, Geneva Thomas, Anna Comack, and Helen Huffman Wrixon; and her dogs, Muttsie and Izzie.

Surviving are four nieces, Patricia Kinnison; Denise "Deni" Gerevics and her husband, Steve; Kathy Whitacre and her husband, John all of Bridgeport, OH; and Judith Huffman of Moundsville, WV; several great-nieces and nephews; great-great- nieces and nephews; and great-great-great-nephews.

Friends will be received at the Kepner Funeral Home, 166 Kruger Street, Wheeling (304-242-2311), on Monday, December 30, 2013, from 11 a.m. until time of service at 1 p.m. with the Reverend Margie Carr officiating. Interment in Greenwood Cemetery, Wheeling, WV.
