Two local accidents investigated

ST. CLAIRSVILLE - The St. Clairsville Post of the Ohio State Patrol is investigating a serious one-vehicle crash that occurred near Bannock.

At approximately 2:30 a.m. Saturday, Joshua A. Myer, 19, from Flushing was traveling east on County Road 10 when he went off the left side of the road and struck an embankment. The vehicle then overturned and ejected the driver who was not wearing his seatbelt.

Other assisting agencies were the Belmont County Coroner's Office, deputies from the Belmont County Sheriff's Office while the Cumberland Trail Fire Department was also on scene.

IN?AN unrelated accident, the Wheeling Police Department responded to the area of South Broadway Street at 9 p.m. Friday for a report of a pedestrian being struck by a motorist.

At the scene, police officers found the victim on the ground near the entrance to Lanes 42. She was transported to Wheeling Hospital with severe injuries. She was pronounced dead at around 11:43 p.m.

The victim was identified as Susie J. Tamburin, 52, of Wheeling.

The Wheeling Police Department continues to investigate the incident.
