ST. CLAIRSVILLE - Ohio University Eastern made it two in a row as the Panthers beat Kent State Tuscarawas 94-85 Sunday afternoon in men's college basketball action.
With the win, the Green-and-White gave Coach Donnie Madzia his 100th coaching victory at OUE.
"I've been fortunate to have had a lot of good players over the last seven years," said an elated Madzia. "I have really enjoyed my time here and look forward to seeing our team continue to improve in the new year."
The Panthers were led by Devin Ward who finished with 31 points, 11 rebounds, four assists and four steals. Nick Schuetz fired in 25 points and grabbed seven rebounds. Ellis Brown pumped in 23 points, while having three assists and three steals. The duo of Danny Nuehart and Paul Demarchi did an outstanding on Kent State's top scorer, Dominic Cutuzaro holding him to only seven second-half points.
The win pushed OUE's record to 5-7. The Panthers will be off until Saturday as it hosts conference leader, Miami Hamilton. Game time is set for 1 p.m.
