BARACK, William "Bill", 91, of Stewartsville, Ohio, died December 28, 2013 at Park Health Center in St. Clairsville.
He was born in Stewartsville, Ohio on January 14, 1922, son of the late Joseph Barack and Josephine Dulcina Scripit Barack.
Bill retired as the chief safety inspector for Consolidation Coal Company. After retirement, he worked for the state of Ohio doing mine supervisor testing. He was a U. S. Army Air Corps veteran serving in the 100th Bomb Group flying 35 missions as a Ball Turret Gunner during World War II. Bill was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Neffs; the VFW Post 626 in Bellaire; the American Legion Post 77 in Neffs and the Bellaire Eagles.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, John, Zack and George Barack; and a sister, Della Bumgardner.
Bill is survived by his loving wife, Katherine "Kay" Zdanski Barack; a son, William (Susan) Barack of Cleveland, Ohio; five grandchildren, William Barack, Tamara (Chris) Karel, Lt. Colonel Christopher (Brooke) Barack, Nicole (Peter) Brent and Captain Matthew (finacee, Nada) Barack; 12 great grandchildren, Colby and Isaac Karel, Sean, Collin, Emily and Ryan Barack, Jacob, Mary, Claire, Jonathan, Samuel and Andrew Brent.
Family and friends will be received on Friday from 3-8 p.m. at Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville, Ohio, where services will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Dan Heusel officiating. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery, St. Clairsville.
Full Military Honors will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home by the Belmont County Council of American Legions.
