WHEELING - Newborn Knox Allen Stamp entered the world on New Year's Day just in time to wish his aunt a happy birthday.
Knox, the son of Tim and Shannon Stamp of Warwood, was born at 6:44 a.m. Wednesday at Wheeling Hospital, and was the only baby born in the Ohio Valley on New Year's Day as of Wednesday evening.
Baby Knox wasn't due until Jan. 21, said his parents. But he did weigh 6-pounds, 7-ounces.

New parents Tim and Shannon Stamp, of Warwood, hold their son, Knox Allen Stamp, the first baby born in the Ohio Valley in 2014.
He will also share his birthday with his mother's sister, Kylie Crockard, who was born 21-years ago on New Year's Day also at Wheeling Hospital. The Stamps celebrated Crockard's birthday on Tuesday night just hours before Shannon Stamp went into labor at about 4 a.m. Wednesday.
Knox is the first child for the Stamps.
Tim Stamp works as a representative for Forest Pharmaceuticals, while Shannon Stamp is a childcare provider for the state of West Virginia.
"If all this happens on day one of 2014 - what's the rest of the year going to be like?" Tim Stamp asked. "What about day 365?"
Though she wasn't due until Jan. 21, Shannon Stamp said she had a doctor's appointment on Monday, and the doctor indicated then she could go into labor soon.
