ROBSON, William E., "Bill", 77 of Bellaire, OH, passed away, Friday, January 3, 2014, at his home.
He was born September 5, 1936 in Bellaire, OH, a son of the late Joseph F. and Jessie Marie McCormick Robson.
Bill was a retired coal miner with the North American Coal Corporation's number 3 Mine and attended the South Bellaire United Methodist Church. He was a member of the United Mine Workers of America, VFW Post 626 Bellaire and American Legion Post 52 both of Bellaire, OH. He served in the US Army.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty June Pojar Robson on October 15, 1982 and two brothers, Joseph and James Robson.
Surviving are his wife, Nancy L. Derr Robson; five children, Sharon Robson of Jacobsburg, OH, Connie (Brad) Hubbard of Glen Easton, WV, Jill (Davey) Gunn, Jr. of Moundsville, WV, Dusty (Robin) Stevey of Wellsburg, WV and Joey (Kim) Stevey of Benwood, WV; three sisters, Alma Lynn of Dayton, OH, Charlotte Bennington and Patricia Shunk both of Bellaire, OH and one brother, Darrell Robson of Bellaire, Ohio. Also 13 grandchildren, including Christina Shunk and Richard "Trey" Shunk, three great grand children and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received at the Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Homes & Crematory, 441 37th Street, Bellaire, OH, on Tuesday from 1 p.m. until time of services at 4 p.m. with Rev. Michael Ream officiating.
The Belmont County Council of the American Legion will conduct Full Military Honors on Tuesday at 3:30 p.m.
