WADFORD, Bruce Edward, Sr.

Funeral service for Bruce Edward Wadford, Sr., 62, of Gilbert will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at Thompson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel, 4720 Augusta Road, Lexington, SC 29073. Reverend Ed Lynch will officiate.

Burial will follow in Blackville Cemetery in Blackville, SC. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Mr. Wadford died on Saturday, January 18, 2014. Born on July 29, 1951 in Blackville, SC, he was a son of the late Fairey Cornelius and Marian Templeton Wadford.

He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Gilbert Branch. He was a veteran of the United States Navy which he served in the Vietnam War. He was member of the Martins Ferry Ladder Company in Ohio.

He loved spending time with his family and riding motorcycles with his friends. He was known by his family and friends as "Big Ed" and would always make you smile and was always there to help you any way he could. He will be missed dearly.

Surviving are his wife, Peggy Wadford of Gilbert; sons, Scott Anthony Wadford (Stephanie Warner) of Wheeling, WV and Bruce Edward Wadford, Jr. of Martins Ferry, OH; daughter, Tina (Ronnie) Floyd of Lexington, SC; five grandchildren, Austin Morris of Martins Ferry, OH, Kimbren Jeffers of Wheeling, WV, Kristy (Larry) Self of Rock Hill, SC, Michelle (Matt) Lanigan of Lexington, SC and Brandon (Samantha) Rabon of Pelion, SC; seven great- grandchildren, Claire, Mason, Aiden, Breelyn, Matthew, Blake and Addison; brothers, Frank (Daphne) Wadford of Augusta, GA, Bennie (Brenda) Wadford of Mountain City, TN and Alan Wadford of Lexington, SC; two nieces, Kayla and Jamie Wadford; sister- in-law, Lou (Spencer) Bell of Lexington; sons, Curtis (Lisa) Warren of Salt Lake City, UT and their six children and Michael Warren of Charleston, SC and his three children; and daughter, Kelley Hale of Jacksonville, FL.
