SHUTLER, Theresa Florence, died at home on Friday, January 17, 2014. She was born June 8, 1923, the second daughter of the late Theodore N. and Amelia C. "Cora" Blatt Scheibelhood of the St. Joseph's Settlement area of Wetzel County, WV.
Theresa was a member of St. Joseph's Cathedral Parish, Wheeling.
Theresa was preceded in death by her husband, Fidelis N. "Dale" Shutler in 2010, four brothers; Lawrence, Raymond, Eugene and Paul Scheibelhood and three sisters; Mary Hohman and Clara and Catherine Scheibelhood.
She is survived by two daughters; Mary M. and Virginia L. "Ginny" Shutler, a sister, Margaret Scheibelhood, all of Wheeling, as well as a number of nephews and nieces.
Theresa was blessed with a very industrious nature, a trait that manifested itself from the time she was a small child to the day she passed from this life. There are post-war-days residents of Wheeling Island who can still remember her as an employee of Estep's AG, where she worked for a decade for family friends, Clem and Monica Estep. After her marriage to Dale Shutler, she helped him establish and run their businesses, Dale's AG Superette and the Wheeling Island Convenient Food Mart. Much of Theresa's strength and energy was devoted to making life more pleasant for those she knew and loved, but many others have been impressed by her calmness, common sense and most of all her kindness.
