No injuries in fire near mine

SEVERAL VOLUNTEER fire departments responded to a trailer fire on Sunday near the Century Mine Prep Plant.

According to Gary Broadbent, Murray Energy Corp. spokesperson, the fire was reported at 2:08 p.m. He said the trailer served as a bathhouse for miners and no one was injured.

Departments from Beallsville, Somerton, Smith Township, Bethesda, Belmont and Morristown responded to the blaze. They were assisted by American Energy Corp.'s fire brigade.

The following statement was released by the company: "American Energy Corp. confirms that a bathouse trailer caught fire, earlier today (Sunday) near the preparation plants at American Energy Corp.'s Century Mine in Beallsville, Ohio. American Energy Corp.'s fire brigade quickly responded to the scene and local fire departments assisted in extinguishing the fire. There were no injuries. There was no impact on the operations at American Energy Corp.'s Century Mine."

Cause of the fire is under investigation.
