CURTIS, Donald Robert, born May 1932 in Washington, PA, died February 8, 2014, at home surrounded by his family in Ormond Beach, FL.
Don was the son of Frank and Helen Curtis, deceased. He also had a brother, C.E. Curtis, deceased.
Don is survived by his wife of 59 years, Phyllis Avery Curtis, son Reid Curtis and wife Susan of Monroe, NC, two daughters- Cynthia Dhand and husband Dr. Arun Dhand, Jill Petrozzi and husband Steve Petrozzi, eight grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Frank Curtis of St. Clairsville, OH. Don and his family were residents of St. Clairsville, OH, before moving to Ormond Beach, FL in 1990.
At his retirement, Don was president and chairman of the Board of Bridgeport Savings and Loan in Bridgeport, OH. He attended Ohio State University and was a graduate of Ohio Savings and Loan Academy. He was a member of Harbor Baptist Church where he served as organist as well as provided many services for the church. He was a member of East Volusia Camp of the Gideon's for 12 years.
Don's hobbies included wood working and building model steam ships and airplanes.
Don was a Navy veteran during the Korean conflict and served his country for eight years.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, February 11, at 4 p.m. at Harbor Baptist Church, 428 Tomoka Avenue, Ormond Beach, FL 32174 with Pastor Ronald Todd officiating.
