NEW MANCHESTER - Katie Ellzy fired in a game-high 27 points to lead Harrison Central to 64-55 victory against Oak Glen (12-7) in girls' high school basketball action Wednesday night.
Shianne Nameth added nine points for the Huskies while Jesse Ledger and Paige Richards scored eight apiece.
Vanessa Hissam led all Golden Bears with 23 points. Alex Arnott cashed in for 10.
Caldwell 70, Monroe Central 61
WOODSFIELD - Megan Devol poured in 25 points and grabbed 13 rebounds and Lexy Schell added 23 points as Caldwell put forth a strong second half in besting Monroe Central.
The Redskins outscored the Seminoles (8-11) 41-31 during the final 16 minutes.
Laken Figel added 13 points for Caldwell.
Allison Kuhn scored 15 points and and handed out seven assists for Monroe Central. Kelsey Dick added 14 points, while Carly Baker netted 12.
The Seminoles visit Magnolia tonight.
Shadyside 74, Shenandoah 45
SHADYSIDE - Jon-Michael Schuetz fired in a game-high 23 as Shadyside inched closer to the .500 mark (10-11) with a 74-45 blowout of visiting Shenandoah Wednesday night in boys' high school basketball action.
The Tigers also received double-digit outputs from Shane Johnson and Logan Cline who scored 13 and 11, respectively. Travis Fulton had a fine floor game with nine points, a like number of rebounds, six assists and three steals. Luke Nardo had seven points and five steals.
Shadyside travels to Bellaire Friday night.
