Service Director Chuck Bennett stated that cold patching has resumed. They will start on Zane Highway North and head south.
"Street are our main concern before alleys are addressed," Bennett said. "Once again our workers have had to put in many extra hours for snow removal. Our guys did a good job with our dwindling salt supply ... We hope in the further we get into February and with more warming trends we can make it through this winter without having any untreated hilly areas."
The water department continues to work on water breaks and frozen line issues.
Bennett also brought up that the lines will have to be flushed due to the winter sediment. The sewer department have already started on three separate locations.
"Our Fifth Street sewer project is scheduled to resume on Tuesday, Feb. 25. For that day and the remainder of the week, N. Fifth Street will be closed to traffic from Park Street to Ellett Street. Access to N. Fifth Street from Short Street will be closed from the Feb. 25 - 28, Ellett Street between N. Fifth Street and N. Fourth Street will be open to two-way traffic," Bennett said.
Once that time frame it up, traffic will return to normal one-way traffic running east.
"We thank you for your patience while we cut across Fifth Street to get the new storm sewer connected and the catch basins installed. The dates could have to be altered due to weather conditions and changes will be announced," he added.
