Tammy Neiswonger has assumed control of the Beallsville track program for the 2014 campaign.
A solid cast of girls competitors returns, but only three boys are out for the team and none have past experience.
Neiswonger and her assistant coach - Savannah Burke - have spent much of the pre-season trying to figure out exactly what events fit the athletes with so many faces involved.
Pictured are the key returnees for the Beallsville track team. From left, are Dicey Stewart, Madison Neiswonger and Ella Campbell.
"The kids have all been cooperative in trying out new events," Neiswonger said.
"Some of the events might be things they're not used to doing, but they've done them all willingly."
The lone senior on the team is Ella Campbell, who will be in the throwing events along with hurdles. She'll be joined by junior Dicey Stewart.
Junior Hannah Perkins will be the top Lady Devil entrants in the sprints. She'll be joined there by sophomore Myranda Thomas.
Sophomore Madison Neiswonger will be one of the more versatile Lady Blue Devils.
She's a solid entrant in the hurdles, distance and long jump.
The balance of the sophomore class consists of Ashley Yingling (throws), Randi Ring (throws), Payton Ward (throws). The freshmen out for the team are as follows: Lexie Thornberry (throws), Rebecca Rutter (sprints), Tristin Bell (sprints).
The Blue Devils boys will be led by junior Melvin Blockton will be the top sprinter.
He's slated to run the 100, 200 and 400 and compete in the long jump.
Freshman Justin Riley will be the Blue Devils' distance runner and also see time in the 400.
Sophomore Dustin Schmidt will patrol the field events and take part in the shot put and discus.
"All of the boys are new members of the team," Neiswonger sad. "They're all very hard workers. These guys are a great group to work with because they've been willing to try whatever event we throw at them."
The Blue Devils lost Gage Steele and Alex Erchak to graduation.
