AZALLION, Donald M. Sr., 95, of Dillonvale died Saturday, April 5, 2014 at East Ohio Regional Hospital Martins Ferry. He was born May 6, 1918 in Dillonvale, a son of the late John J. and Mary E. (Mentro) Azallion.
He was a retired School Teacher for 20 years for the Buckeye Local School System where he taught Chemistry, Biology, and Physics. He was a member of the Dillonvale Presbyterian Church, a veteran in the US Navy in WWII, the McCook post of the American Legion #529 Dillonvale, the JCRTA, the ORTA, the NRTA, and the AARP. He was also a 75 year member of the Smithfield Masonic Lodge.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his loving wife Mary Ann (Sokoll) Azallion in 2004, a son Phillip Michael Azallion, a brother John Azallion, and a sister Mary L. Azallion.
Don is survived by his son Donald M. (Cathy) Azallion Jr. of Pasadena, MD, daughters Sara M. Galloway of Battlecreek MI. and Jeanne M. (Bob) Posgai of Dillonvale, also several loving grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Wilson Funeral Home, 154 Second St., Dillonvale on Tuesday, April 8, 2014 from 4-8 p.m., where services will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. with Rev. Michael Lenno officiating, interment in Highland Cemetery Mt. Pleasant. Smithfield Masonic Services will be held on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. at the Funeral Home. Full military services will be conducted by the McCook Post of the Dillonvale American Legion on Wednesday at 10:45 a.m. at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Dillonvale Presbyterian Church 52 Liberty St. Dillonvale, Ohio 43917, or the Dillonvale American Legion.
