The Village of Yorkville will be holding a spring Clean-Up?Day on Saturday, from 8 a.m.to 1 p.m. across from the Municipal/City Building.
The program is in partnership with Shadyside Cartage, owned by former Yorkville resident Dwayne Pielech. This event will give residents an opportunity to dispose of unwanted items they may have in their home, yard, basement or garage.
Two large roll-offs will be available for the disposal of unwanted items. All household items and trash will be accepted. Items not able to be disposed of include: hazardous materials, building materials, cement, roofing, yard waste, explosives, ammunition, batteries, and paint. There is a $2 charge for car tires. Residents 65 or over or handicapped may call the Police Department at 740-859-2947 from 8-12:30 on the day of the event for pick-up of unwanted items. Street workers will be assisting residents at the site.
Volunteers are welcome to assist as well. Please call the Mayor or any council member with questions or to volunteer to assist on that day. Proof of residence, such as a utility bill, will be necessary at the site.
