SUMMERTIME is festival time in the Ohio Valley.
Many local communities stage celebrations over the course of the next three months. Such events generate money for hometown businesses and various vendors while also yielding fun and entertainment for patrons.
Bellaire is the hub of local entertainment this week. The annual All-American Days Festival begins a three-day run Thursday.
The fest, staged in and around the village's historic park, offers something for everyone.
The eighth annual All-American Days will feature classic cars, professional wrestling, bingo, fireworks and even a performance by Elvis Aaron Presley Jr.
The festival also will include food vendors, carnival rides and crafters. Plenty of activities will be on tap for youths including a fishing derby and Kiddie Olympics.
Need more? Zumba and Tae Kwon Do demonstrations will be given on Saturday.
Putting a spectacular bow on the activities Saturday night at 10:30 will be a fireworks show sponsored by the Bellaire Area Chamber of Commerce.
Festivals such as the All-American Days are a source to promote community pride. Bellaire is a proud town battling through some tough times.
The three-day celebration affords Bellaire residents a time to leave their concerns at home and revel in friendship in frivolity. We encourage everyone to visit the All-American Town and treat themselves to a festive time at the All-American Days.
