Veral Thomas, 51, of Canal Winchester, OH, was called to Heaven on June 9th, 2014.
He was born in Warren, OH and grew up in East Palestine, OH.
He enlisted in the Navy where he spent time touring in the Mediterranean and serving his country. Following his service he attended Youngstown State University where he met and fell in love with his wife, Debbie. They were married on May 12, 1990 and spent 24 years together raising their four children.
He was an avid gamer and all around geek! He never met a person who could resist his easy charm. He made friends everywhere he went.
He is survived by his loving wife and life partner, Debbie Ballint Thomas, who has enjoyed and is grateful for every step of the journey; his four amazing children, Alexander, Isaac, Samuel, and Maggie who carry his gentle spirit wherever they go and in everything they do. He is also survived by his mother, Sheila Briggs; and sister, Tonia Thomas who showed him what true family can be.
He has had an enormous presence in the lives of all kinds of people including, friends, neighbors, and extended family members. His stamp on the world is undeniable and he will truly be missed.
Friends and family may visit the Dwayne R. Spence Funeral Home and Crematory, 650 W. Waterloo St. Canal Winchester, OH 43110 on Friday, June 13, from 10-noon with a Funeral Mass officiated by Msgr. A. Anthony Frecker to follow at St. John XXIII Catholic Community, 5170 Winchester Southern Rd. NW, Canal Winchester, OH 43110 at 12:30 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Ohio State University Medical Center Division of Hepatology to ensure continued research in the treatment of liver disease.
