THE 23rd annual German Ridge Jamboree will be held on Saturday, July 26, from 10:30 a.m. until 7:30 p.m., at St. John’s United Church of Christ at 51705 German Ridge Road, Powhatan Point. Along with live entertainment, there will also be homemade German Food (10:45 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.), ice cream and pies, bake sale, crafts, country store, quilt show (11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.), horseshoe pitching contests (11:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.), Balloon man (1 to 6 p.m.) kids games (1 and 3 p.m.), all on the picturesque grounds of the brick church. Tony Summers will once again be the emcee. The schedule for the event is as follows: 10:30 a.m. - Flag Raising and the National Anthem sung by Hayley Campbell; 10:45 a.m. to 11:45 a.m., “Fuse” a Christian Contemporary Youth Bank; noon to 1 p.m.; Sam the Magic Man; 1:15 to 2:15 p.m., Elnora Baranich; 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monroe Singers led by Paula Ring; 3:45 p.m. to 4:15 p.m. Paula RIng Piano Solo and Cake Walk; 4:30 p.m. to 5:45 p.m., Loretta & Elle; 6 to 7:30 p.m. Streamline Band.
