The First United Methodist Choir - 1950

THIS CHOIR sang in the early 1950s at the First United Methodist Church, Martins Ferry. The congregation will celebrate the 200th anniversary of the church Sept. 20 and 21. An "old-fashioned camp meeting" with music, refreshments and praise will be held Sept. 20 from noon to 4 p.m. in City Park, and a worship service will be Sept. 21 at 10:30 a.m., followed by a dinner at 1 p.m. Catherine Martin, a devout Methodist who started a class at the Martin home, will be portrayed at the dinner, and Ebenezer Martin will be portrayed at the camp meeting. Among those identified in the choir are Emma Jean Scott, Rena Bayha, Elizabeth Jasper, Nancy Ruthers McKinney, Myron Gibbons, Mary Katherine Mears, Barbara Steger, Barbara Kirkpatrick Stabile, Joyce Coen, Sally Lysinger, Joan Bennett, Wilma Messerly, Mark Lysinger, Bob Winters, Harlan Shriver, Kenny Sabic, Nancy Larkin, Charles Messerly, Joe Duskey, Edwin Gosney, Eugene Sabic and David Ward.
