Travel Baseball Tryouts
Experienced and established local Travel Baseball team is looking for players for 9U, 10U, 11U, 12U and 13U teams for the 2015 season. Tryouts will be held Saturday in Morristown at the Lynn Hunkler Complex. The 9U and 10U will begin at 9 a.m. and 11U and 12U will begin at 11 a.m. and 13u at 1 p.m. The teams will practice during the winter months and begin games/tournaments late March and play during the summer months. Home games will be held in the Wheeling/Morristown area and away games/tourneys will be no more than a 3-hour drive. Ferry Flag Football Signups
The Martins Ferry Park District will have flag football signups for grades 1 through 6, through Sept. 2 from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. at the Martins Ferry Recreation Center.
The price is $30 for the first child and $20 for each individual in the immediate family. Games will be played on Sundays at the Martins Ferry Purple Rider Stadium. Anyone having questions is to call the recreation center, (740) 633-0602 or Larry Deaton at (740) 296-0076.
UL Passes, Reserved Seats
Union Local will be offering athletic passes and reserved seating for football at the high school office, starting Tuesday from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. Senior citizen passes are $25, student passes are $50 and adult passes are $85.
Bellaire Volleyball Camp
Bellaire Lady Reds volleyball camp is Tuesday through Thursday at the high school gym. Cost is $30. Participants in grades 2-8 are welcomed. Any questions call Kaye Sechrest at (740) 695-2089.
Harrison Mandatory Meeting
Harrison Central will hold its Fall Player/Parent Meeting on Wednesday at 6 p.m. at the John W. Stephenson Center at the high school. This meeting is for any student in grades 7-12 who will be playing a sport this fall at Harrison Central Jr./Sr. High School. This is a required meeting by the OHSAA.
Buckeye Jr. High Football
Buckeye Local Junior High football will begin on Thursday. Eighth graders are asked to report at 2:30-3:30 p.m. and seventh grade should report at 5-6:30 p.m. Players are asked to report to the east end of the high school and should wear shorts and football spikes.
Ferry Selling Reserve Tickets
Martins Ferry is selling reserve tickets for its five home football games for the 2014 season today and Tuesday from 5-7 p.m. at the stadium ticket office, for those who have purchased their tickets in the past. The cost is $35 for the five games. If there are any season tickets remaining, those purchasing them for the first time may do so on Monday, Aug. 11 from 5-7 p.m. at the stadium ticket office.
Also available today and Tuesday will be parent passes for $125 each and senior citizen passes for $20. Student passes will be available when school starts for $40. Questions please call Carol Burda at 633-1732, ext. 3.
Ferry Football Parents Meet
The next meeting of the Martins Ferry Football Parents will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 12 beginning at 6 p.m. at the Martins Ferry Rec. Center.
All parents of players in grades 7-12 are invited and encouraged to attend.
St. C. Celebrity Server Night
The St. Clairsville Football Team will hold a celebrity server night on Tuesday at Undo's in St. Clairsville from 5-9 p.m.
St. C. Junior High VB Tryouts
St. Clairsville 7th and 8th grade volleyball tryouts will be today (5:30-8 p.m.), Tuesday (6-8 p.m.), and Wednesday (6-8 p.m.) at the high school gym. Those interested in trying out need a current physical. Forms can be picked up at St. Clairsville athletic office or administration building. St. C. Jr. High Football
All St. Clairsville 7th and 8th grade athletes wishing to play football, practice will begin Wednesday from 6-7:30 p.m. Things to bring: red and gray shirt and shorts, football cleats, and water jug.
On Thursday following practice (7:30 p.m.) there will be a parent/coaches meeting for both grades. Please sit on the east side of the home bleachers.

Shadyside Student and Senior Citizen Passes
The Shadyside Athletic Department is selling senior citizen athletic passes as well as student athletic passes at the high school. Passes can be purchased in the athletic office between hours of 8 a.m. and noon, Monday through Friday. Senior athletic passes are $20 for Shadyside residents and $30 for non-Shadyside residents. Student passes are $50 and will be accepted at any and all athletic events held in Shadyside for the entire school year.

OC Chaos Softball Tryouts Slated
OC Chaos is holding try outs for its 14u travel softball team on Sunday, Aug. 10 from 10 a.m. until noon at the new East Wheeling Sports Complex. You only need to attend one of the try-out dates. The Shadyside High School baseball team will once again be collecting scrap metal as a fundraiser for the upcoming season. Bridgeport Hall/Wall of Fame Needs Addresses
The Bridgeport High School Hall/Wall of Fame Committee still needs addresses for the following: 1958 football team members Alvin Henry, Fred Fox John O'Hara, Allan Earnes, Barry Gasaway and Coach Michael Mormanis; 1936 football team members Edson Heinlein and Robert Dill; and Coach Floyd Baker.

The Ohio Valley Football Coaches Association is in the process of accepting applications for nominations for retired assistant football coaches with 25 years of service, with at least 15 of those in the OVAC. The recommendations, may be sent to either Reno Saccoccia, Dave Bruney or Mike Young. We would be inducting these coaches into the hall next winter.
